Can a Pattern Collection be Eye Candy?

I promised a picture of my pattern collection...
Pattern collection: Coats

The Coat sew-along blog is set up, I set a limit of 75 participants but exceeded that, and now we're limited out by blogger, which only allows 100 participants in a blog.

I've closed the sew-along to viewers outside the members, however when all the sewing is done, plan to open it again for viewership. Look for it around the end of September, beginning of October.

Wow, that's a lot of coat patterns! How will you ever decide which one to make? I have a lot fewer patterns than that, but I may look at some new ones as well. Right now leaning to Nancy Erickson's coat, the only pattern of hers that I haven't made up.

I'm still thinking about the sewalong. Problem is, it's not that cold here so wool blazers and a sweater work most of the time.

Meanwhile, let me know if you'd ever consider having me take the John Anthony and/or Valentino off your hands. Love the dresses in those patterns!

Definitely eye candy. I'm pretty certain I have a few of those patterns.

What a beautiful collection! I wouldn't know which one to use first!

Thanks Marji! Now how are you going to choose? I will have to think about the style that will suit my lifestyle and weather.....

Wow! You are definitely the right person to be coordinating the coat sewalong.

PATTERN ENVY! I also live in a climate where coat wearing is mostly unnecessary, but some of these are just so swooningly gorgeous...

There are some delish coats there, especially that last Marfy one. I will drop you an email for an invite- I owe you an email anyways! I have at least 3 coats on the design line( that translates to "I have 3 coats I want to make"!)

I have decided to make a raincoat. But, not a trench coat. I found a pattern that I like, and I have the Burberry raincoat material and lining. The only thing that I need, aside from buttons, is material for the button out lining. I have made coats before and they don't intimidate me, but the details on this raincoat do, a little. I know that it isn't technically a winter coat, but with the button out lining it is a 4 season coat.

Oh, and I wish that I had that great Montana pattern! I kept thinking I'd buy it and then, before I knew it, it was out of print.

I tend to collect jacket patterns that I like to look at and dream about when I should be cleaning or something, lol.
I love number 15, which I would never have anyplace to wear; and number 18, which combines the 2 elements that I like best-shawl collar and swing silhouette.
Thanks for sharing with us.

OK, I'm in - send me an invite. I've been wanting to make an unlined spring coat. However, it was 103 today, so it's hard to get motivated.

Marji, This is a great idea. But I don't think I'm up for the challenge just yet. I watch and read from the side lines.

Marji, I'm gonna join, but I don't have a blog, I'll just 'sew on the sidelines', if that's ok....
